I hear that Voice say,

about seven times a day,

"Don't worry about it."



That same Voice,

about once a week says,

"You can do it."



Mostly in moments

when I want to give up

that Voice says

"It's okay." or "You're okay."

or "You'll be okay."



To some people

God speaks with eloquence

and in complicated sentences

like in 1 Peter.



But mostly

he speaks to me in

simple phrases

and mainly the same

three phrases:



"You're okay"

"Don't worry about it." &

"You can do it."



That's enough for me

to put up my shield of faith

and pull out that sword

and boldly say:



Thus saith the Lord

the victorious One

the One with the biggest army

the One with the most powerful voice

"I'm okay.

I can do it.

I'm not going to worry about it."



The enemy mockingly

challenges me:

"My, are you a lot

like Stuart Smalley."



"No," I respond

"I'm not fictional

nor are my words.

Good bye."
