Lifted Up

Lost and
Surrounded by
The cloak of night
Upon the sea
Of misery.
Winds of affliction
Bring torment
To my
Sorrowful soul.
Something is out there
Though I cannot see...
Or perhaps it is
Someone
Who will change my destiny.
A flutter of wings is heard nearby …
I am then lifted up out of
the darkness and given
joyful rest.
A secret happening
Unfolded and revealed
At the right time.

All that the Father giveth me shall come to me;
and him that cometh to me
I will in no wise cast out.
John 6:37

Amen, ALWAYS at the right time does our Savior lift us up, wipe our tears away and empower us to continue on by His strength and by His never-ending mercy. You just have this special way with words :) Love and (((HUGS))) ! Jody

You paint a beautiful picture, to go along with the lovely picture on your poem. I felt "lifted up" as I read your words. May God continue to bless you in your ministry, Julie. You reach out and touch someone every day....Helen

I love how you have a picture, then a beautifully penned poem underneath. This evokes wonderful images, "A flutter of wings is heard nearby … -- I am then lifted up out of -- the darkness and given -- joyful rest." Very lovely writing.
