Going through the motion
Like riding a merry-go-round
Life set on cruise control
Heeding complacencies sound.
The horses here are pretty
But the direction is all wrong
What Christ desires of me
Dedication that is strong.
Going ‘round in circles
Accomplishing nothing at all
The enemy’s opportunity
Ultimately to see me fall.
Christ longs for me to step
Off this melancholy ride
To come into His arms
Traveling along His side
Yes, it is time to dismount
This stagnant carnival ride
Plant my feet on solid ground
With my Savior at my side.

Great analogy - life is a merry go round. But we needn't make it that if we focus on the Lord. He can take us out of the round-about, and face us in the right direction....I pray this will help those who feel that they are on a merry go round...It does seem that way sometimes--"same-old, same-old." But God can show us the light at the end of the tunnel. (Mixed metaphores? Maybe! But we all get the point.) Change our focus...Helen
