JUST LIKE YOU!

This is Alex and she's 8 years old. In a lot of ways, she is just like me and YOU!

She loves to run races, skip single or double-dutch, and play tag. Just like YOU!

She loves to climb on jungle gyms and play soccer. Just like YOU!

Alex also has tons and tons of friends at her school and Church.

After school, she loves to ride up and down her street on her bicycle with her
friends. Just like YOU!

Every week, Alex goes to the ice rink and puts on her figure skates because, she also loves to skate. Just like YOU!

Her favorite subject at school is Art. She wants to be an Artist when she grows up.
Just like a lot of you!

She also has some special qualities. She can't hear like you or me can. So, she hears in other ways.

Alex can see and watch our mouths while we are talking. Sometimes she makes it into a game. She's really good at it!

She loves music but hears it differently than you do. She hears it with her whole body! She can close her eyes and feel the vibrations that the music makes. Can YOU?

She also knows an extra special Code Language. The special language is called
'Sign Language'. She can talk with her hands by making her hands and fingers move in different ways. Each position is a symbol or code. Do YOU like figuring out or making codes? Alex is good at it.

Most important is Alex loves her family and friends very much, and they love her too!
Just like YOU!
