They say the Lord was brought to trial,
That He had NO defense;
That Pilate should have freed Him,
But hate was too intense.
Was Jesus the Defendant
Against a plaintiff world;
Against a righteous Pilate?
(This somehow seems absurd.)
The Angels' Legions could He call;
True justice could He bring,
But Pilate had his day in court;
On trial before his KING.
