In 1968 there was a violent protest at the National Convention for the Democratic Party in Chicago. As protesters gathered and advanced, the onlookers and protesters both shouted, "The whole world's watching", while police lines advanced toward the protesters.
The protesters were pointing out that the gathered media was paying as much attention to the activities outside the convention hall as to the activities inside.

The city police of Chicago were put on notice that their reaction to the protest was as much a matter of importance as the protesters and their activities. What the protest was about was much more than the convention itself. It was about the way the country was being run, the war that the US was fighting at the time.

It is not too dissimilar a statement to say that the "Whole World's Watching" how we as God's people are living our lives. We have our issues much the same as the people who follow their own gods. How we react to those issues, deal with those conflicts, and carry on is either a source of encouragement or a point of hurt to the on-looking world. Our influence is the most critical and crucial thing in this world. Will we lead and influence it, or let it lead and influence us?

Whatever we do, the whole world's watching.
