Then Moses
stretched out his hand
over the sea;
and the Lord
drove the sea back
by a strong east wind
all night,
and made the sea
dry land,
and the waters
were divided.
[Exodus 14:21]
***********************
(The Lord is in the Throne Room.
His Hand is on His Chin;
He's frowning, and nodding
down at Earth. Suddenly,
one of His children
knocks on the Doorway.
The Lord looks up,
and beckons.)
_______________________
"Hey, LORD?
Can I come in,
for a second?"

"Come in.
[Frown. Nod.]
What is it, My child."

"I've just heard
about a new ARRIVAL,
TODAY, LORD!"

"Who, Moses?"

"Well.....I can't remember
his real name, but some
folks around Here,
are callin' him 'MOSES'!
What's goin' ON?"

[SMILE.]
[NOD.]
"Ah.
Yes, My beloved.
I KNOW him:
very well!"

"Who IS this guy, Lord?
I don't UNDERSTAND?
How come everybody's
callin' him 'MOSES'?
I thought You just
made ONE 'a me!
Heck, my brother
Aaron even asked him
for his AUTOGRAPH!"

[LAUGH!]
[PATIENT SIGH.]
"It's a long story, Moses.
Maybe, I should let HIM
tell it to you. I gave
him a wonderful speaking
voice."

(Sorrowful frown!)
(Speechless - just for
a moment.)
"HEY, but.....LORD!
This NEW guy doesn't look anything
LIKE me!
(Kvetchy frown.)
(Pout.)
(Pound serpent-shaped staff
on floor of the Throne Room.
A couple angels standing
around the Throne, gasp.
The Lord just looks on,
lovingly, at His befuddled child.)
He's TALL!
HANDSOME!
MUSCULAR!
And, like,
he's got this REAL DEEP
VOICE!
What GIVES, Lord?
Who IS this GUY?"

[SMILE.]
[CHUCKLE.]
[NOD.]
"Calm down, Moses.
Calm down, My child.
It's alright.
He's never going to replace you.
[SMILE!]
Not to worry."

(Pout.)
"Well.......I don't LIKE this,
Lord! There's like a whole
bunch of people GREETING
him, and sayin';
'HEY, MOSES!
How's it GOIN'?'
(More pouting.)
Stuff like THAT, Lord!"

[PATIENT NOD.]
"Yes, My beloved.
I understand."

"But....!"

[CHUCKLE.]
"Everything is fine,
My child!
[PAUSE.]
It's time that the two
of you
met each other.
[SMILE.]
You're going to get a
big kick out of this.
[CHUCKLE.]
I promise,
My Moses!"
**************************
Then Moses
went up
on the mountain,
and the cloud
covered the mountain.
The glory
of the Lord
settled
on Mount Sinai......
and on the seventh
day
He called to Moses
out of the
midst of the cloud.
[Exodus 24:15-16]

Julie always has a way of using humor to illustrate Biblical truths. Honoring Chareston Heston is no exception.

I laughed at this. I must say though, I didn't quite get it at first, but when I saw the tribute, I laugh.
Good work.

I enjoyed this light-hearted tribute.
