ONCE UPON A TIME

Once upon a time, we had two little pigs
I named them Bake and Bits
To watch them, provided such hilarious fun
To the kids they sure were hits.

Their rooting antics, what joy to watch
Huge stones removed with ease
I liked to call them free roto tillers
Cultivating the ground for our seeds.

Friends we became as the months rolled by
Soon spring turned into fall
Their weIght increased to a suitable size
The axe was soon to fall.

Leading them onto the trailer
For their ride to the butchers block
Was one of a changed behavior
As the pigs began to take stock.

They knew it was their last ride
They were in a real true jam
These two little porkers destiny
Was soon to become our ham.

Yes, friends are friends forever
You can never be a friend too late
These two friends who were friends in our pen
Were now true friends on our plate.
