"Oh. WELL!
With cats and DOGS, YES!
But, THAT'S different!"

[LAUGH!]

"Sure, Lord!
I even used to talk that
way to my pet TURTLE,
when I was a KID!"

[NOD.]

"REMEMBER him, Lord?
My Mom used to feed
him raw HAMBURGER?
I'm still not sure WHY?"

[CHUCKLE.]

"I always thought
turtles were vegetarians?"

[PATIENT NOD.]

"See how I do that, Lord?
I'm real good at gettin'
off the lovey dovey stuff!"

[NOD.]

"Eh.....it's just a bit too
close for me, is all.
Ya KNOW?"

"Yeah; I'm just a lot
more comfortable with
You, when saying stuff like:

MAKE, Lord:

Stuff like that."

[NOD.]

(Slurp up some more
Banquet box spaghetti.)

I bet souls are just neuter."

They ARE, Lord!"

"WHAT?"

stay away from the
lovey dovey stuff?"

[NOD.]

"Yeah; I guess so.
I'm sorry, Lord;
I wish I was
more, Ya know: romantic."

"I dunno;

with poetry, and stuff.
I was never good at it."

[SILENCE.]

"Hey, LORD?
Did King David ever try to
sell his song LYRICS?"

[OMINOUS PAUSE.]
[RUMBLE.]

"Okay! OKAY!
ForGET it!
Just forget I SAID it!"
(Silence.)

"Don't blame ME, Lord!

Paul MCCARTNEY generation!"

[NOD.]

(Breathe sigh of relief.)
"ANYHOW;
Let's just get off the
subject, SHALL we?"

"Yeah....I feel a lot
more comfortable talkin'
about stuff like:

Why did You stop
being' KOSHER,
all of a sudden,
in ACTS 10?"

[GENTLE SMILE.]

"Or:
Why's PLUTO so SMALL?
How come You never
talk about AMERICA,
in Your Book?
What was so great
about ENOCH: that GUY
who never DIED?
Did Adam and Eve
REALLY eat an APPLE?
Or was it a PEAR?
How come You're always
so in LOVE with this little
slice 'a land, the size
of NEW JERSEY?
Where did JOHN get all
his PAPER from, while
stuck on that little ISLAND,
to write the Book of REVELATION?

Why was Sampson so STUPID?"
