The day is usually a jumble of things; a jumble of emotion and events which, though they work to a sensible end from God's point of view, this daily jumble often is hard to manage from a human perspective.

The mind is a beautifully complex, mysterious storage compartment. It holds memories of love, memories of home, memories of warm familiarity that are drawn on often. But while it holds the beautiful things, there is more often underlying tendency to cling to the worrying aspects of life than is good for us; often blinding us to the beautiful thoughts we have.

For example, instead of assuming that others are thinking good of us, often it is assumed that their opinions can only be negative. "How can people be thinking good of me?" "I KNOW they hate me!" "Did you SEE that look they gave me?" And so it goes...and soon we find ourselves dissolved into the memory pool of the rubble within our minds. Sleep is lost, confidence is shattered, and faith is shaken. Our lifeline to God is weakened from the strain and tension of these inner struggles, and we are left a joyless heap of humanity.

If we could only rise above the situations we find ourselves in with others enough, perhaps, to be able to realize that the opinions we feel others have of us are probably the opinions we harbour within our own minds of ourselves , then life might be more productive and happier than not. Would it not be better to assume there is goodness in others and that their intentions are good ones, rather than assuming the opposite?


A negative attitude towards others is one that satan is thrilled for us to have, because then our minds would be too consumed with so much fear and doubt that there would be very little room left for God's Spirit to fill it and be able to speak to us properly so that His plans for our lives and for being able to love each other and to be an effective witnesses for Him can come to fruition.

Instead of being buried alive under mounds of hopelessness, where confusion and misunderstanding were building up around the soul before, perhaps our lives can become a magnificent rubble; One that we can rise up out of triumphantly with God's help to work for our own greater good and for the greater good of others for God most of all.

If we can come to love and value ourselves for who we are and cling to the hope that God loves us as we are and accept that He also loves others unconditionally, then the "possible" ill will that someone "may" be harboring against us mayome to no longer matter. Then, perhaps, we may be free to draw a circle of love around each person we meet, without preconceived judgment or resentment that can poison the Christian soul. Perhaps others may see, through our confidence and outpouring of unconditional love onto them, the very face and forgiving love of Jesus Himself.

It's all about love and acceptance; Acceptance of self and of others. It's all about having love enough to cover over our own shortcomings without hating ourselves and covering over the negative actions of others towards us without coming to hate them as well, for such actions only come out of the natural fear, worry, and insecurity which we are all prone to as humans. We cannot, as Christians, hold others accountable for the same human failings and faults we all share. It is better to help each other through life than to be stumbling blocks and to allow ourselves to constantly stumble from our own inner weaknesses.


With the Spirit of Jesus loving others unconditionally through us, perhaps that strength might become the pull that helps ourselves and others out of an unproductive heap of humanity, up to a magnificence of spirit that will be strong enough to see us safely through the pilgrimage of our lives. This would be pleasing to God and be happiness and contentment for us all. It would surely mean a more peaceful, enjoyable world in which to live.


John 15:9-12
"As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father's commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you."
