It was a cold crisp February morning in 1989 when the call came."Mr. Owens?" yes I said, "Your 8yr old son Jonathan was killed in a car accident and try as we may, we couldn't get his heart started again, I am sorry sir, but your son is dead."

I will never forget the rush of adrenaline, the shock and terror that gripped my heart that day, I was completely paralyized, and the sorrow was more than any human should be asked to bear.
My son Jonathan was the apple of my eye as were all my sons but Jonathan loved being with his dad. We were kindred spirits and I loved how he wanted to be near me.
My ex-wife and I made all the usual arrangements and final preparations for the funeral and layed our son to rest.

It was during this time that God was closer to me than ever before. I saw many miracles from the passing of my son but the most miraculous of all would have to be the one that happened at my sister's house.
She held the wake after the burial for me and my side of he family. My oldest brother Jimmy and my youngest brother Norman had been at odds and not on speaking terms for almost ten years. We gathered in the living room and tears of sorrow and grief flowed from my eyes. My brothers saw this and came to comfort me. They were both at my side at the same time when my youngest brother looked at my oldest and walked around my chair, stuck out his arms in love and was recieved by the other with compassion. As they embraced I knew that all the conflict that had caused them to be separate was eternally gone and for the first time in 10 years, we were all brothers again like when we were kids.
Praise the everliving God for His mercy and forgiveness.
I could go on and tell you a hundred different miracles that happened that month but seeing God make things right for my brothers made my sorrow and grief lift from me.
If there was ever a silver linning to a seemingly dark cloud, that was it.
