Encouragement
Reflection or Reflecting
Take a moment.....
Look in a mirror.
What do you see?
Honestly.
If you are like me, I expect to see flaws, imperfections so by the time I look into a mirror, my apprehension seems to take over my very soul and my fears realized.
Yup, thats all I see. Flaws, imperfections, aging signs, and so on. I avoid mirrors at all costs. Just a quick glance is all I do.
Why?
Why look when I already know the answer? Why put myself through that each day? Where did this image of myself come from? Where does this fear stem from?
Is what I see, what everyone else sees? As I look at loved ones, what do I see? Do I look for flaws and imperfections in others or do I see their inner beauty, capturing me?
God asked me to look into a mirror and tell Him what I saw. I fearfuly, reluctantly did look and I immediately whined back what I saw,.... to The Creator!
Then He asked "Do You want to see what I see?"
My first reaction was NO!
Then yes?
Then no.
Then whatever Lord, yes.
"My Daughter, as I look at you I see your heart. A heart filled with love for others. A heart filled with tears for others. A heart filled with Peace, Joy, and Compassion to share with others. I see Your Heart willing to do My Will. I see a beauty so incredible inside it reflects to the outside world, this face of your inner beauty. A face who has been rejected, tired, and tried, and through it all is a reflection of Jesus. My Son sees through your eyes. My Son hears through your ears. My Son speaks through your mouth. My Son breathes through your very breath. My Son lives in You!"
As I ponder upon these words from a Father so loving and so perfect. There is one thing I ask.
Who am I reflecting to the Mirror of this World?
