The Many Shades of Green

There are many shades of green
The world may cause us to desire
But the greenest of green
Comes through the Holy Spirit, fire

One shade of green
My be a friend or a mate
Though if our focus is seeking these
Our lives, we will most likely hate

Another shade of green
May be lots of money in our hand
Though we fail to realize
That we cannot buy, our promise land

Another shade of green
May be worldly acclaim
Though this will never compare
To the Holy Spirit rain

Another shade of green
May be many material things
Though these will never satisfy
Cause we don’t see the weight, that they do bring

As I have walked with Jesus
I have learned that nothing can compare
With the beautiful greenest of green
That Jesus my Lord, with me, does share.
