thus says the Lord,
the Lord of hosts:
O My people,
who dwell in Zion,
be not afraid
of the Assyrians
when they smite
with the rod
and lift up their staff
against you.
[Isaiah 10:24]

"Hey, LORD?"

How can You SAY this?

"Oh. You're THERE!
I thought, maybe, You
went to the President's
house for DINNER?"

"No, My child.
I am right here."

"Well.....I finished up
all the potato salad;
so, You can't have
any of that. Hey,
do Ya want some of
my raspberry SHEBERT?"

[PATIENT SILENCE.]

"Lord, how could You say
THAT?"

"What, Mein kinder."

"This, Lord: THIS!
About the ASSYRIANS!
I'M afraid just of their
NAME, even on the PAGE!"

[NOD.]

"What are You: MESHUGUNAH?"

"Child, to Whom are you
SPEAKING?"

(oops.)
(oy!)
(uh oh.)
"Eh.......to the very merciful Lord,
Who's gonna be in a really
good MOOD,
when His beloved child
appears BEFORE Him,
at the Judgment Seat...
carrying a little DAISY,
clutched in both her humble,
and very trembling HANDS?"

[LAUGH!]

"Hey, LORD?
When we do come to
the Judgment Seat;
do we get to TALK BACK?"

"That depends, child."

"On WHAT?"

"Many things."

"Like WHAT?"

"Like:
[PAUSE.]
showing fear,
My child,
when you walked
this earth."

"FEAR?
A'WHAT?"

"Of Me."

O My people....
be not afraid
of the Assyrians.....
For in a very little while
My indignation
will come to an end,
and My anger
will be directed
to their destruction.
