There are some situations in the physical and spiritual worlds that truly amaze me! Some things happen, and I just never can figure out how they work, but they do.

When a Federal Express jetliner takes off at the Memphis, Tennessee airport, it’s lifting close to 200,000 lbs of metal off the ground! This happens when the air over the top of the wing gets stretched out. It has a longer distance to travel over the wing than the air under it, so the air on top gets stretched out, creating a vacuum. The vacuum pulls up on the wing, and the plane flies! But it sure is carrying a lot of metal, plastic and rubber when it does! It’s truly amazing!

A long time ago, someone was born in circumstances considered dubious at best, socially. The so-called father heard that his intended was already pregnant, so he tried quietly tried to have her put in a convent. The kid was born, though. The parents apparent raised him, loved him, watched him grow up and have a ministry of healing and teaching. For his premiere ministry event, he had water gathered in huge tubs and he turned it into wine, the best wine the partygoers had had all evening. (“Move over Moinhos, this is DIVINE stuff heah!”). What a party saver! Then there was the dead man who got up and walked out of his grave on this guy’s command. This man lived perfectly, committing no sins, and then got hung for it! But the most amazing part is that the real father considered that the sins of past, present and future humanity were paid for in that one crucifixion!

These two amazing things were both brought about by one amazing God. He created the physical circumstances that put planes in the air, and the spiritual circumstances that put His creation back in contact with Himself! It was the next best thing to Eden.
