Psalms 63

David writes this Psalm when he was in the desert.

Psa 63:1 O God, You are my God; I will seek You earnestly; my soul thirsts for You; my flesh longs for You, as in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;
Psa 63:2 so I have seen You in the holy place, seeing Your power and Your glory.
Psa 63:3 Because Your loving-kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise You.
Psa 63:4 So I will bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name.
Psa 63:5 My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise You with joyful lips,
Psa 63:6 when I remember You on my bed and think of You in the night watches.
Psa 63:7 Because You have been my help, therefore in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice.
Psa 63:8 My soul follows hard after You; Your right hand upholds me.
Psa 63:9 But those who seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go into the depths of the earth.
Psa 63:10 They shall fall by the sword; they shall be a serving for jackals.
Psa 63:11 But the king shall rejoice in God; everyone who swears by Him shall glory; but the mouth of those who speak lies shall be stopped.

V1: He compares his physical thirst for water to his spiritual thirst for GOD!
He says 'O God you are MY God'. He has accepted God as his OWN personal God! 'Earnestly will I seek you. My inner self thirsts for you and my flesh longs and faints for you. Your love is better than life and my lips h\shall praise You'
He was going through too many things. He was chased around like a dog by the King whom he served faithfully. He had no other refuge other than the God, a God he has not seen but only have heard about (of course he has seen God's might though!).
In this chapter we can feel his longing for the Lord. May be at that time he did not feel God's presence around him. He confesses that His love is enough and is more than anything to him. He says 'Your loves is like the richest of all foods to my soul. I remember all you have done for me on my and count the blessings you have done'.
Oh! Just comparing myself to David. I love the Lord, that is true. But is my soul longing for him am I thirsting for Him. When troubles in the sizes of pebbles when compared to the problems David went through come across, how do I react? Lord help me to become stronger in Spirit and draw me towards your love each day
V7: You have been my help and in the shadow of your wings I will rejoice'. Even in the days of trouble, he rejoiced and cherished in the Lord under (the shadow) His wings.

V8: 'I will cling to you'. I hang on to you, whatever might happen I will not leave you.
He believed that God will never let go the wicked. He will punish them for all that they do to His children. Hallelujah!
