Children
Once there lived in a big dense forest a little monkey called Timpu, with his strong and mighty mother. He was always very proud of his mother. But he was very very naughty and disobedient too. There lived all kinds of animals in the forest.
One day Timpu's mother told him 'Timpu, mummy has some work to do today, I am going to meet your sick aunty. Below this tree lives the old rabbit. He will tell you a lot of stories. He will also allow you to play in his burrow!'. Timpu waved bye to his mother and turned towards the old rabbit who started to tell about his great, great father who once fooled a lion and how the whole forest was saved. Timpu felt very boring he has heard this story many times before. He suddenly thought of an idea... he said 'Uncle, let me go up the tree and bring my story book too'. He didn't wait for the rabbit's permission and climbed the tree as fast as he can. Poor old rabbit stood helpless, looking at the speeding little monkey.
Timpu was very happy. He felt free, free as a bird. He jumped from tree to tree and finally reached the end of the forest. He suddenly stopped. He was getting the enticing smell of roasted peanuts. He followed the trail of the smell and saw an abandoned cart. There was a jar of freshly roasted peanuts. He quickly saw to his left and to the right. No one was around. He leaped to the cart and put his little hand into the jar and grabbed a handful of nuts. But when he tried to pull his hands out, he found out that his hands got stuck inside the jar. He jumped and pulled but he couldn't free his hands. He started to cry and feel bad for being disobedient, but soon few men came and caught him and sold him to the circus. If only he had listened to his mother and the old rabbit he wouldn't have fallen into the trap of these hunters, isn't. But it was too late when he realised it.
As a child, sometimes you might also feel like doing everything you can at one time or you might be feeling very boring. But remember to obey your parents. You not only please them, you also please God by obeying them. You will also feel happy when you really obey.
Well junior, obey your parents, they love you and that is why they are trying to correct you. Jesus loves you too. Read the Bible and it will teach you the way to walk, if you do not understand anything, you can write your doubts to us and we will help you in understanding the Bible.
