UP There!
Where ARE YOU?"

[SILENCE.]

"Lord!
LORD!"
(wave both hands in the air)
(try to whistle)
(make a feeble whistling sound
that resembles an offkey bird)
LORD?"

[SILENCE.]

"Hey!
Come ON, Lord!
That's not FAIR!"

"What isn't, child."

"Huh?
Oh.
I thought You were off,
listening to somebody,
really perfect."

"And who is that,
My precious?"

"I DON'T know!
Some of these guys are,
like, You know, really
GOOD."

"Who, child."

"Well, some of these....
'Ya know."

"No, child.
I don't."

"Really good people."

"Who are they."

"I DON'T know, Lord!
'Ya know: all these
people that are goin'
to Heaven."

"Where are you going?"

"I don't know, Lord.
I think I argue with You,
too much."

[PATIENT SILENCE.]

"Plus, I'm not always
the most reverent,
eh......"

"What, child?"

"Eh.......what AM I, Lord?"

"Tell Me,
My beloved."

".......Transitioning Jew?"

"What is that, My precious?"

"It's, eh, a Jewish person
that hasn't really figured
out what's goin' on with
You, yet."

[LAUGH!]
"What is going on, child?"

"I DON'T know!
One minute, You're
One Person.....
not even a PERSON......
and the next,
You're THREE People!"

[PATIENT SILENCE.]

"You aren't gonna become
somebody ELSE,
are You?"

[SMILE.]

"'Cuz, I'm confused
enough, already."

"I understand, Mein kinder."

"So, when You're not
around, Lord....."

"When is that, My child."

"YOU KNOW:
when You're not AROUND!
Does that mean You're
with the other GOOD
people?"

"No, child."

"Then, what does it
MEAN?"

"That,
[PAUSE.]
You just need to call My name."

Hearken to Me,
you stubborn of heart.....
I bring near My deliverance,
it is not far off,
and My salvation
will not tarry;
I will put salvation in Zion,
for Israel My glory.
