A New Beginning

2007 Is over! Happy New Year! "What appears to be the end may really be a new beginning" (unknown). Isaiah 43:18-19, encourages us with this passage, "Do not call to mind the former things, or ponder on things of the past. Behold, I will do something new...I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, rivers in the desert." God is telling us that no matter what has happened in the past, do not remember old things or meditate on things of the past. He is ready to do something new in your life. When there seems to be no road in the wilderness or rivers in the desert, He will create one for you. When things look hopeless, God will give you hope. When doors seem to have shut, He will open up new doors for you that no man can close!

Passion

God has placed a special desire or passion inside of you. If you haven't taken the time to pay attention to what drives you in life or what makes you excited when you talk about "it" with friends or people in your life, it's time. It's time to acknowledge your passion and pursue it. Passion is a strong desire, a zeal or fervor towards something. As you journey through life and discover your gifts and talents and what it is that gives you a burning desire, you will not be satisfied until you do something about it.

The Bible tells us that all the promises of God are yes and amen. There are hundreds of promises in the Bible! If you are a parent who makes a promise to your children and because of the love that you have for them, you will do whatever it takes to fulfill that promise. How much more will God keep His promises for His children? Below are just a few of promises from God. You can search the Bible and find many more.

He will give you the desires of your heart. (Psalm 37:4)
He will reward those who diligently seek Him. (Hebrews 11:6)
He gives eternal life to those who believe in His son Jesus. (John 3:16)
He will do exceedingly above all that you can ask or think.
(Ephesians 3:20)
He gives us wisdom if we ask for it. (James 1:5)

Purpose

You have Purpose! "Purpose is why you were created and Mission is what you were meant to do about it." (Life With a Plan E-Book). God has a special purpose for your life and for why you were created. That is between you and God. Identifying what your purpose is will enable you to figure out what you are meant to do about it. Stephen Covey quotes Dr. Hans Seyle, "a long, healthy, and happy life is the result of making contributions, of having meaningful projects that are personally exciting and contribute to and bless the lives of others." (The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People)

You are meant to be on this earth for such a time as this and you get to choose how your journey will end! Whether you were born to biological parents or adopted by wonderful people who raised you, God has a wonderful plan for your life. Know that you are special. Jeremiah says that before you were formed in your mother's womb, God knew you. You have a purpose!

It's a new beginning! Acknowledge your passion, find God's promises for your situation, and know that you have a unique purpose!
