Dear Lord-teach us Your word today-amen

"And you have been given the fullness of Christ who is the head over every power and authority."
Colossians 2:10

A dear sister in the Lord was reminding me last night just how much authority we have in Jesus name! We have been given the 'FULLNESS of Christ-we get everything He has as believers. We are His brothers and sisters, and while we share in His suffering, we also get to share in His glory!

Looking back at scripture and reading Acts and reading about Peter healing the lame man, and the blind, and Jesus Himself healing the many who were sick and crippled, it all sounds sureal and almost magical. But its more than that-ITS BIBLICAL BASED TRUTH. It happened, and today 2000 plus years later we have that same authority because we have the SAME God as Peter and Paul and the rest of the disciples. When we are commited to God like they were ,we will recieve the power like they did.
I love the phrase "power from on High". When the Holy Spirit speaks to me He often uses that phrase and it makes me excited and happy. But its more than just a phrase, more than just words, its availiable to us as believers of the Lord Jesus Christ. After all, aren't we also disciples?

If we see a sick person on the streets, we have the authority to pray for them, even if just in our hearts and rebuke the illness. Next time you are visiting someone in the hospital, as you are walking down the halls, pray for the patients! They may not all get up and walk(or maybe they will!!!!!) but it can't hurt and God may just be waiting for you to open your heart and allow His healing touch to flow through you. You, as a layperson may heal a man that physicians have been trying to heal for weeks, because of the Christ in You!

Its not our gift. Its His gift within us. I don't trust myself with medical equipment, but I do know that Jesus is the Healer, so when I call upon Him, I have the healing power.

Its been almost a year since my surgery on my thyroid and I know so many of you prayed for me, and while I did have pain it was bearable and I did heal quickly. I was very sick for a very long time and now my thyroid(or the half I still have) is functioning well, and I have no pain or discomfort. So thank you for praying. What if the people praying for me had though "I can't do it, I'm not important enough, etc". I have a feeling I would have felt worse than I did, or worse yet I may have even had cancer. You never know.........praying is never a BAD thing, and God hears our prayers, and He answers. Maybe not how we would expect but He is always working.

Jesus said we would do even greater things on earth than Him........allow God to work through you, through prayer, and faith and just see what He does. We have recieved His FULLNESS.
