“Yes, I am the Bread of Life! When your fathers in the wilderness ate bread from the skies, they all died. But the Bread from heaven gives eternal life to everyone who eats it. I am that Living Bread that came down out of heaven. Anyone eating this Bread shall live forever; this Bread is my flesh given to redeem humanity” (John 6:51) The Living Bible

The bread the Israelites ate in the wilderness only lasted one day and they could only gather a certain amount. The Living Bread that Jesus provided by giving his body for us so we can live forever was broken to be imparted to others.

It is human nature to want to keep ourselves protected and isolated so that we might preserve ourselves. It is our natural tendency to pull away and aside when we cast our Living Bread to others and they reject what we have to give.

If you innocently cast your pearls before swine, you will get trampled. The rejection you feel is God being rejected not you. We should share our bread (Jesus) with others but we should develop discernment to know who is truly hungry. When you find that person, share the bread of life and go ahead and pour the wine too to celebrate God’s abundance to you and others.

PRAYER
Father, thank you that Jesus became broken bread and poured out wine for every person who would receive Him. May we share with those who hunger and thirst for righteousness and are not afraid to experience new life. Amen.
