I hate where I’m from, what I see;
Yet it was all I ever knew;
It taunts and torments me, like a banshee,
Bewailing the death that comes to imbue;

The heart of this one, broken and blue
Adrift on the sea, can’t see the shore;
Feel an end coming; what can I do?
Desire in me growing, wanting You more;

I want to see the heart of Your plan
All the works You’ve made for me;
To be conformed to the Son of Man;
Truly in You and truly free;

A breaking has come, finding its home in me,
Thrashed to the brink now in my view;
Truth has revealed to help me see
The breaking I feel is coming from You;

The heart of this one, feeling its weakness
Lost in the ocean, no land in sight;
The end isn’t coming; loathing the digress;
Wanting to run, but I have no might;

I see me taking Your word to heart,
I stand upon it, solid as ground;
Through it I walk, finding my part;
I am persuaded: to You I’m bound;

This binding heals me; I am complete,
Walking in truth is like a bandage;
Bowing before You, Your mercy seat;
Your truth it frees and heals the damage;

My days and dreams are lost in You;
My own breath is in Your hand;
When You come for me, from the blue,
May I be found in Your command.
