weirder than that
paper TOWEL!
(thoughtful silence)
Well.....anyway, those select-a-size
is a, I guess, a good IDEA, when
you think about it, but....."

"Capitalize 'You', child."

"Huh? Uh uh, Lord.
I wasn't talking about YOU;
I was referring to 'you' in
general: as in the whole of mankind."

"Ah. I see.
Go on, My precious."

(thoughtful silence)
"Now I forget what I
was talkin' about, Lord."

"The paper towel.
[PATIENT PAUSE]

(sip some A&W rootbeer)

IDEA.....but, it just doesn't......"

"Yes, Lord!

I mean, those paper towels
are NEVER the right size:
for ANYTHING; the minute
you try to clean somethin'
with them, they just
FALL APART!
That's IT!
You DO get it!"

[SLOW, PATIENT NOD.]

"Do You see what I'm
GETTING at, Lord?"

"Yes, My beloved.
You see your Lord
as a Select-A-Size."

(laugh!)

[PATIENT NOD.]
"Read My Word, child."

"WHY, Lord?
I don't think they
invented paper towels
until 1950.

Scott, in Philadelphia, in 1879.
Scott Brand Tissue was sold at 10 cents
per roll of 1,000 sheets. The company
managers had a railroad car full of
paper, that was too thick for use
as the toilet tissue. They decided
to make the 'bad' paper into
towel-size rolls, and sell them
to restaurants and railroad
