Looking up to the skies
As if to find my home,
I know it’s there, in His eyes
And the heart He’s made my own;

So much hope beyond this life,
No one can e’er tell me different;
It only shouts over the strife,
Makes me look to Him with reverence;

I know I am my Father’s child,
Born not of my choosing;
He chose me from the wild,
Borne of His Son’s bruising;

I know I am my Father’s child,
I’m told I have His eyes;
He turned my heart and then smiled,
Gave me joy’s surprise;

Birthed by the Word and the Spirit,
In Him I came to be;
By new heart His voice I hear it;
New eyes have made me see;

I cry boldly; no fear here,
“I love You, Abba Father!”
I also cry with equal cheer,
“I love Your Son, my Brother!”
