He covers the face
of the moon,
and spread it over it
His cloud.

It has been a long day. The coolness
of the night has brought simple
food and good fellowship, shared over
a warm fire. Peter has gotten up,
and wandered away from the others.
His Master comes over to him, and
sits down on the soft grass.

"That's a big moon, out tonight,
Lord!"

"Yes, Peter.
It is."

"You know what?
I can almost see a FACE on it!"

[SMILE]
"One day, Peter, men will travel there."

"WHAT? No WAY!
REALLY, Lord?"

[SMILE. NOD.]

"How are they gonna' do THAT?"

"Hm.... something like a big chariot,
with a roof on it.
[NODS.]
YES, Peter.
It will go up and up...."

"Uh, UH! That's UNREAL!
When are they gonna' GO?"

"Not for a long time:
A very long time."

"I can't BELIEVE it!
What are they gonna' DO up THERE?"

[GENTLE LAUGH.]
"Jump up and down, walk around,
talk to people back
on earth, and.....hm, play GOLF."

"Golf? What's THAT, Lord?"

"It's a sort of game, Peter.
It's a game."

[chuckle]
"And, that's IT? Won't they
be doing any conquering?"

"Yes, Peter.
Yes: of the heavens."

"How very strange, Lord.
Who will these men be:
the ROMANS?"

"No, Peter.
They'll live in a land very far away.
And they won't have kings, anymore."

"WOW! Where is this place, Lord:
in ASIA?"

"Uhm, um. Off that way: towards
the west."

"WEST? But, Lord, there's
nothin' OUT there. Nothin'!
Nothin' at ALL!"

[SMILE. NOD. STRETCHES.]
"Let's go back to the others, Peter.
On the way, I'll tell you about
the indoor toilet: people will
have them INSIDE their HOUSES."

[laugh!]
"No WAY, Lord!
Now I know, You're just
joshin' me!"

[NOD.
CHUCKLE.]

When I look at the heavens,
the work of Thy fingers,
the moon and the stars
which Thou hast established;
what is man that Thou
art mindful of him......?
