You can't go, kissing Angels,
Said my Mother once, to me.
They're too high up, just listen
And you'll hear their prophesy!
I stood, clothed in my ignorance
One day and I declared,
If I can't kiss an Angel,
Then my God is so unfair!

I stood behind rebellion
Which to me, became a sword.
I held it out before me,
I remember every word.
If I can't kiss an Angel
Then explain why I feel torn
So, tell me why a rainbow
Should appear after a storm!

My Mother shook her head
Yet a smile spread on her face.
'You can't go kissing Angels
My dear child, they're full of grace'.
Then tell me why they're distant,
Whilst surrounding you and me?
She looked surprised, then realized
Her vision failed to see.

'You can go kissing Angels'
I once said to my new-born.
They kissed you on arrival
When they welcomed your first dawn.
With love inside your hearts now,
You can hear their prophesy.
To go on kissing Angels
Throughout all eternity.
