God, I need a rainbow!
I just need to know that you are here.
And that you care
For me like no other,
Closer than any brother
Or mother could ever be.
How I need to see a reminder
Of thee before me.

It seems as if this storm
Is not like all the others.
For I have had many troubles,
And my share of fears that I was going under.
Oh, the many things I wonder,
As they patiently wait for me
To blunder things up in my life.

How did I end up here?
I was seeking your face,
Inquiring of your grace,
Very prepared for this race,
Yes, ready to take first place.
But failing to see,
That it was only me,
You are after.

I just need one word from your throne,
To keep carrying on.
Sometimes feeling alone
And standing and fighting,
As I brave this test
You’ve allowed to make me the best
At much contest,
By my flesh.

You've been faithful through the years.
All the many tears,
I’ve shed cause I thought,
I was shifting the gears.
Quickly realizing,
That you are in control
Of all things that matter.
How I am only a tatter,
As I stand before you.


But always knowing,
Your love is flowing
From your heart to mine.
You’re gentle and kind.
It’s so easy to find
A reminder of you,
As I push rewind,
On the recorder in my mind.
