In the heart of a city, in a stable so cold
Was born a sinless babe, tells the story of old.
A babe sent to us to save a world full of sin.
Sent to promise eternity, to who believed in Him.
His soft tiny feet, which kicked at the hay,
Dimpled baby hands would be in pain one day.
As He grew he taught the power of His love.
And how to live forever with Him someday above.
He lived as a man and felt our same pain.
His hunger, heartache, His love and His shame.
The world would then reject His name as a King.
Taunting and laughing making His heart sting.
They finally lead Him away, up a steep hill,
Bearing a heavy wooden cross, at His own will.
The nails in His hands, the nails in His feet,
The spear in His side, His back that was beat.
His suffering is a reminder of an innocent babe,
Placed in a manger, then rose from the grave.
He promised to come again, returning some day.
Watch for the signs through Him is the way.
To take back to heaven when this world we leave,
They who will trust His word and in Him believe.
Mark 1:30-33 The angel said to her, " Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end."
Mark 2:19 But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.
