Christmas is Better Late

I have to go back a number of years for this one, but it is worth the trip. Back then we didn't have a lot of money and the holidays always seemed to sneak up on us. We were never ready. With Christmas only days away and we had gotten nothing for our son or ourselves. We had an artificial tree that my Mother-in-law gave us, but that was about it. No new decorations this year, and the hope of enjoying Christmas in a giving way, had all but vanished.

But leave it to a Godly woman and her wonderful reminder of God's provision. He is able to supply a table in the wilderness - was all she said. God said it and she believed it. Yes it was the week before Christmas and I had no extra work or money to fall back on. So while my wife is reminding me that God's hands are never tied, a phone call comes into our house. It was Jamestown Royal, a furniture and upholstery shop needing me to go there to service their seventeen sewing machines while there people were out on Christmas holiday leave.

I was amazed and we were blessed beyond measure. I serviced all of those machines and walked away with over 400 dollars by the LORD'S HAND. He is able, He is able, He is able - I kept repeating to my self. I spent much of the rest of that time and up until Christmas, singing His praises and thanking Him over and over.

What a great God we serve, who loves us so much. First He offered up His Son for us all and He keeps on giving to us.
