The Church

Man can build a church building
He can put in the pews
He can lay all the carpet
And install windows for a view

He can wire all the lights
So people can see
He can do all the plumbing
So water there will be

He can then put out signs
And invite people in
But he just can’t deliver
The people from their sin

The building is so pretty
And the people are so nice
But there is something missing
There is no spiritual life

The place is just dead
As man is in control
He has done all he can
He has done all that he does know

All the many workers
Specialize in their trade
They are trained to know what to do
That is why that they get paid

Someone had to call
All of the experts in
Or they would not have come
The building process would never begin

Jesus is the expert
When it comes to spiritual things
He is the master builder
With salvation, deliverance and healing in his wings

We can have the building
And have people wall to wall
But no one will be helped
Unless on Jesus we do call

Jesus will come when invited
He will send his Holy Spirit rain
He will save the lost and heal the sick
And cause the lame to walk again

When man is in control
Nothing good will take place
Change only comes
When we seek Jesus’ face

He will not come
Without our permission
He cannot work
Without our submission

Jesus said that we ask
Yet we do not receive
Because we consume it on our own lusts
The one in control would then be me

The Holy Spirit just can not work
Until given the control
He cannot move in power
Gods’ glory He cannot show

If we want a place of worship
Not just a building that is dead
Then we must ask and allow the Holy Spirit
To come and lead instead.
