Pleasing Man or God

Living to please man
Is an impossible task
We cannot please God
Unless we do what He does ask

It is not that others mean harm
For they think for you they know what is right
The only problem is that most of the time
They have for you, no spiritual insight

God makes each person unique
Not made to fit another’s mold
Each person has a special job
In God’s church fold

No other man will know
The plan that God has for you
Unless the Holy Spirit reveals to them
They can only suggest, what they think that you should do

Many times God will tell only you
So by faith with Him alone you must stand
Others may think what you do is wrong
But they are not the one, that holds your hand

To walk alone with Jesus
May at times be a lonely walk
For others will just retreat
As at His command, they will balk

How many people that you know
Would forsake all for Him to follow?
Would they give up all wealth and fame?
To many, that is too much to swallow

When we get to Heaven
Our God is going to ask
Did you do my will?
Or try to do someone else’s task?
