And as Jesus passed on...
two blind men followed Him,
crying aloud,
Have mercy on us........
and Jesus said to them,
Do you believe that
I am able to do this?
[Matthew 9:27-28]
******************************
"Lord?"

"Yes, child."

"You said I should ask
for Your healing, Lord."

[NOD.]

"But, well.....I'm just not
sure."

"About what, child?"

"Well, I don't want to get
You mad, or nothin', but....."

"Speak, child!"

"Well, hm.....I don't really
think You're good at that
sort'a thing; You know:
the emotions, and all."

[SMILE.]
"Ah, I see."

"No! No, Lord! I think
You're really GREAT at some things:
making Jupiter, polar bears,
volcanoes, the Grand Canyon.....
'Ya know - that sorts'a stuff!

[NOD.]
"Go on, My precious."

"I think You're good at like,
making the heart beat, and....."

"Where is your heart, child?"

"Inside me, Lord.
(silence)
But, it's barely alive."

"What is keeping it alive, child?"

"I dunno', Lord: all my
good cholesterol?"

[SMILE]
"Tell Me, child."

"Well, eh.......I guess,
You.....I guess."

[NOD.]

Well, yeah. Maybe, You're
keepin' it beating, Lord...
but, that's about it.
See what I mean, Lord?
You're just good at the
physical stuff. But,
what about....."

"The love, inside?"

"WHAT love?"

"Mine, child."

"But........"

"And, what will
heal you, child?"

(whisper)
"Nothin'."

"What was that, child?"

"Huh? Oh. Eh......uh....
well, maybe....."

"My love, precious child.
Only My love."
*****************************
He heals the brokenhearted.
And binds up their wounds.
He counts the number of the stars;
He calls them all by name.
Great is our Lord,
and mighty in power;
His understanding is infinite.
[Psalm 147:3-5]
