I Get It

After several years of salvation
Reading about God's chosen nation
Watching them rise and fall
While God is faithful through it all

Reading I would get frustrated
Why can't you just do as God said
But rebellious hearts would not repent
Even after God's prophets were sent

Too many times I wondered why
Why God would forgive each time they cry
After all that they had done
God's patience and love was not undone

Now four years later here I stand
Rising and falling as those in the Promised Land
My sinful nature at times prevail
God saves me from the gates of Hell

My life is no different
From those in the wilderness sent
My heart rebels against God's will
But Our Father is patient still

My flesh too often betrays
My thoughts and action strays
yet when I cry for forgiveness
God delivers me from the wilderness

My life parallels that of Israel
But now I see it on a personal scale
Each rise and fall I have learned
Grace is given, not earned

Grace is given, not earned"...Isn't it wonderful that Grace is given, not earned? If we had to earn it, we all would fail. Thank the Lord for giving us John 3:16 and I John 2:1. God loves us, and we have an advocate when we sin.... Thanks for sharing this great truth with us, Christian. God bless you and keep you in His care....Helen

You are His and He is yours - a two way street that He has paved. Sometimes you're running to Him and sometimes He is running to you - either way the meeting ends with His warm embrace. We are blessed to be known by Him and to know His unending unconditional love. Keep on Keepin' on, brother in Christ :) Jody
