The One Sitting Next to Us

The one that is sitting next to us
I wonder, do they have a need?
Are they hurting inside?
From bondage, do they need freed?

Do they have enough money?
To pay their light bill
Do they have enough strength?
To cross over one more hill

Do they need someone to pray?
And hold up their hand
Are they so discouraged?
That they don’t know how to stand

Did they cry out all night long?
Because of their pain inside
Though they won’t let you know
Because of foolish pride

Are they really scared?
Of just what will be
Is a spirit of fear holding them?
And they wonder who will help them, to get free

We get so involved
In all the things we do
We may want to be careful
The one sitting next to us, may be you.
