Why I Do Believe

Some may say that I have a philosophy
But that is just a belief of man
The God I know not only created words
But backs them up with power, again and again
A philosophy is only but a mental exercise
That will never set a person free
It only brings contention and strife
It is not based in a servant heart of humility
A philosophy never healed a broken heart
It never delivered a demon possessed soul
It never healed a sickness or disease
It never gave a revelation, of something that you did not know
It never protected you when danger was near
It never gave you the fullness, of joy in your heart
It never took away all your fear
It never gave to you, a new start
It never gave to you peace, in the midst of a storm
It never brought to you, Gods’ presence strong
It never gave to you, a reason of hope
It never turned a deep hurt, into a song

When you meet the true God
And see His love and might
You may look back on me
And wonder, was he right?
I do not care if you agree with me
As my own agenda, I am not trying to prove
My only desire is that you meet Jesus
For He alone will show you what is true
All I know is that Jesus has a glorious plan
That is tailored just for you and me
Jesus died on the cross to save us
To give us life here, and eternally
My joy is when you meet Him
Not when you meet me
And just experience His loving presence
That will set your mind and spirit free
The day that you pray for a swollen ankle
And see it healed instantly
The day you cast out a demon
And see a person that was bound, be set free
The day you get to lead someone else to Jesus
And see them transformed before your eyes
The day you are engulfed in His presence
And are freed from satan’s lies
You then will understand the reason
Why I Do Believe.
