There is something in have a good name, good reputation......I am Abraham's servant.....Abraham was a man of wealth and faith.

camels -- was in common use among the Jews & heathen nations at this time in this scripture, Arabian camel or one-humped camel, "camelus arabicus." Arabs call it - heirie & they are careful to see that the hump is in good condition before they journey long ways.

Verse 36

And Sarah's my master's wife "bare" a son to my master when she was old: & "unto" him hath he given all that he hath.

Verses 37, 38

And my master made me swear, saying, Thou shalt not take a wife to my son of the daughters of the "Canaaniti4es," in whose land I dwell:

But thou shalt go unto my father's house, & to my kindred, & take a wife unto my son.

THE FAMILY - The Institution & Laws of Marriage -- Marriage with Gentiles

Canaanites -- those who dwelled/resided/lived in Canaan.

Verses 39, 40

And I said unto my master, Peradventure the woman will not follow me.

And he said unto me,....... The LORD before whom I walk,....... will send his angel with thee,....... & prosper thy way;....... & thou shalt take a wife for my son....... of my kindred, & of my father's house:

Angels, The Angel of the Lord OR Of God, Expected or Asked For

Abraham had faith that the woman would accept and follow his servant in order to become Issac wife.



Verses 42, 43, 44

And I came this day unto the well,

Behold, I stand by the well of water;

Let the same be the woman whom the LORD hath appointed out for my master's son.
