Today also my complaint
is bitter...
[Job 23:2]
****************************
"Hey, Lord!"

[SILENCE.]

"Lord!
LORD!"

[SILENCE.]

"Hey, Lord: You
know I didn't mean
that stuff about
what I said."

[SILENCE.]

"......about, eh.....
You know: You
not existing, and
everything.....
that was just
my indigestion talking."

[SILENCE.]

"LORD? LORD!
ARE YOU THERE?"

[SILENCE.]

"Aw, come on!
I'm SORRY!
You know I really
don't think You
don't exist!
Why would I be
kvetching at You,
all the time?
HUH?"

"Do I exist, child?"

"Eh......uh,
yeah. I think so!"

"I see."

"Well, I gotta' be
honest, Lord!
They say You know
all of our thoughts,
anyway!"

[NOD.]

"Hey, Lord!
Guess what?"

"Tell Me, precious."

"I made a bet with
my friend, tonight!"

[RUMBLE.]

"WELL, it's not
a BET."

"Good, child."

"I just told my friend,
that I would try not
to kvetch, ONCE,
to You - for 24 hours!"

[SMILE.]

"No, REALLY, LORD!
I said I wouldn't
complain to You,
at all, for a
WHOLE DAY!"

"Ah. And, what
time is it,
My precious?"

"Eh, well -
by my computer,
it's eh - 10:57 PM."

[NOD.]

"I started the bet -
uh, I mean, the
PROMISE -
at 9:30."

[NOD.]

"So far, I don't
think I'm gonna'
make it."

"I'll help you, child."

"Oy vey."

[NOD.]
*****************************
Then Job answered:
Today also my complaint is bitter,
His hand is heavy in spite of my
groaning.
Oh, that I knew where I might
find Him,
that I might come even to His seat!
I would lay my case before Him
and fill my mouth with arguments.
I would learn what He would
answer me,
and understand what
He would say to me.
[Job 23:1-5]

I loved this! It was really funny. Great article.
