parable about The Talents."

"Go on, precious."

"I STILL don't understand this
part about the third servant
who buried his coin in the
ground - and then, got
punished for it. What was
THAT, about?"

[SILENCE.]

"I don't GET it."

[PATIENT SILENCE.]

"What's wrong with that
guy hiding his master's money?
At least, he didn't spend it.
He could've gone to Walmart
with it."

[PATIENT SILENCE.]

"Lord, what IS my I.Q.,
anyway? It's always
been a big mystery."

"Not to Me, child."

"Oy; don't tell me!"

"Read It again, child.
All of It."

"Wait a minute, Lord;
my cat's laying on It.
(silence)
There; he just got up.
Okay, Lord; just give
me a minute."

[PATIENT SILENCE.]

"It's really LONG, Lord;
It's got too many words.
And, It's hard reading this
with all the red."

[PATIENT SILENCE.]

"You want me to read this
part about the goats, too?"

"Yes, My good student."

"I think this part's kind'a
harsh, Lord."

"It is."

"It's kind'a scary."

[NOD.]

"So.....like, being a
faithful servant is....
uh, following everything
You say?"

"Go on."

"And.....spreading Your Word?
(silence)
Yeah, but suppose we
didn't even get ONE talent, Lord?"

"Read It again, child."

"Okay, Lord."

[NOD.]

"Oh, Lord?"

"Yes, child?"

"Happy Rosh A'Shannah."

[NOD.]

When the Son of man
comes in His Glory,
and all the angels with Him.....
Before Him will be gathered
all the nations,

as a shepherd separates
the sheep from the goats.....
Then the King will say to those
at His right hand,
