Grief

I wrote this back in 2001 for a dear friend when she lost her Mom. I just ran across it today and thought I would share it. Maybe somebody out there is going through a time of grief right now. If you are, remember the good times and be thankful in all things. God Bless.

Remember the Good Times

It was good to hear your voice this morning,
But sad, to hear what you had to say.
I could feel the pain in your trembling voice,
When you told me your Mama passed away.....

It's the day we talked about so many times,
When we'd say good bye to our Mama's,
How could we handle it? We wondered out loud,
But we didn't have any answers.....

Now that time has come for you, my friend
And I am at a loss for words of comfort and peace.
Just know that I love you and wish you well,
And I am so glad you thought to call me.....

We are close like sisters; you and I
But there's not a thing that I can say,
I feel your pain, and I feel your grief
Now that your Mama has gone away.....

She is at peace now, in pain no more,
So please be rest assured.
She's in the arms of her Savior,
She's well again, her soul eternally secured.....

She waited until the time was right,
When she knew all her children were ok
And very quietly, she just went to sleep,
While holding your hand; her youngest baby.....

Remember the good times, when she was healthy and young.
Don't think of her suffering and pain,
It's all over now, and she is with Jesus,
Where there's only sunshine, not rain.....

Just remember the good times,
And be happy for her...celebrate the long life she had,
Be strong in your faith of knowing she's home
Right where she belongs, in that you can be glad!
