Captain of my Heart

When the seas of life are tossing me
When the waves are crashing down
Upon my shattered, broken vessel
And I feel like I could drown
When I’m capsized from the turmoil
Bitter salt water falls from my eyes
The crimson tide a conquering force
From the total blackness of the skies
When I’m drowning in a river of tears
I call out to the Captain of my heart
He is the Mast that will support me
And navigate me back on chart
There’s no lighthouse on the horizon
That could ever shine so bright
As the One who holds the future
As the One who Is The Light
“Peace, be still My precious daughter
Come out of the boat, come unto Me
With your step of faith across the water
Behold, how I have calmed your sea”
My voyage through these life storms
Are but a breath to the Lover of my Soul
He’s the Captain of my foolish heart
He is and will be…….forever in control.
