My Heart, My Bride

How can I thank God enough
For the gift He’s given to me
One I’ll cherish for years to come
Throughout all eternity

May the love we have now
Be one that will surely grow
For our God has a plan for us
One He already knows

Our part is to trust in Him
For each and every day
“Seek Me and you will find Me”
So may we never forget to pray

From this day forward
His plan will be revealed
Together one step at a time
To Him our hearts will yield

I give you my heart, my all
My precious, beautiful bride
For this day I’ve only dreamed
And my joy I cannot hide

I look forward to life with you
A family that God intends
May we always be one in Him
And our future on Him depend

May I be a man of God
A husband worthy of praise
I promise to love and cherish you
Throughout all of our days

May your son and his new bride have as happy a marriage as Hart and I have had. Yes, we celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary on August 24th, so I wish the same to your son and his bride; although I won't be around to witness their 50th!!! Note to the newly-weds: God bless you both. Your union will not be without trials and testings, but that is what makes the marriage strong. Our wedding motto was: "Christ Pre-eminent." I know He wasn't always, in times when we forgot to put Him first, but all-in-all, making Him Pre-eminent is what makes for a strong marriage. God bless the two of you "real good!"...A friend of your mother's, Helen

My son's fiance is a very strong Christian girl. They met at a religious event when they were 15 and have dated ever since. I remember times when he would just DREAM about this day that is soon approaching! :) Lucy

Anoter good one. I love to tell people how, at the hotel on our wedding night, Mary and I opened and read from the Bible, then knelt and prayed, before we had any intimacy. I believe God has blessed our marriage to last these 46 years largely due to that act of commitment to Him. God bless your children as they begin their own families.

Oh how I love weddings - I cry every time I go to one! This is a beautiful poem that holds a great promise for a bright future for the bride and groom. In Christ's Love,

Julia
