Jesus said,
They need not go away;
you give them something to eat.
They said to him,
We have only five loaves here
and two fish.
And He said,
Bring them to Me.
[Matthew 14:16-18]
*******************************
"I'm sitting here eatiing some
bread and butter, Lord."

[NOD.]

"Yeah. It's weird;
I was looking at this part
of Matthew, and suddenly
I thought about the
bag of bread in my
refrigerator."

[PATIENT NOD.]

"I'm sorry, Lord.
I don't mean to be
irreverent."

"Who are you speaking to, child?"

"Eh, I don't know.
I'm still kind'a uncomfortable
with Jesus.
(silence)
'Ya know, with the Old Testament,
I can sorta' be myself."

[SILENCE.]

"I can be real creative,
and just - You know -
say whatever."

[NOD.]

"But, with Jesus....
I can't do it.
I feel real inhibited."

"I know."

"I'm Jewish, so....
'Ya know, I'm
afraid to offend
anybody."

"Are you offending Me,
child?"

"'Ya mean when I write
about....like, Moses, and stuff?
(silence)
Yeah....but, You
KNOW me, Lord;
You know I 'got a
weird sense of humor!"

[NOD.]

"So.....like, if I believe
in Jesus......then, I
guess...."

"What, child."

".....eh, that HE
would know me, too."

[NOD.]

"Lord?"

"Yes, My child?"

"What did'Ya do
with the leftover baskets?"

[SMILE.]
"I gave them to you."
******************************
........ He ordered the crowds
to sit.......on the grass;
.......taking the five loaves and two fish
He looked up to heaven, and blessed,
and broke and gave the loaves to
the disciples........the disciples gave them
to the crowds....... they all ate
and were satisfied.
And they took up twelve baskets
full of the broken pieces left over.
[Matthew 14:19-20]
