Ahab told Jezebel all that
Elijah had done....
Then Jezebel sent a messenger
to Elijah, saying,
So may the gods do to me...
if I do not make your life as
....one of them by this time tomorrow.....
Then, he was afraid,
and he arose and went for his life....
he himself went a day's journey
into the wilderness........

"ELIJAH!"

"Yeah, Lord?"

"What are you doing here, Elijah."

"What d'Ya mean, Lord?"

"I mean,
WHAT ARE YOU DOIN' UP HERE?"

"Huh? Oh, 'Ya mean, in this
'here cave, Lord?"

"Yeah, Elijah.
And, don't give Me any of
your STORIES."

"Well, eh.......lately, I've become very
interested in bat watching. And,
this cave up at 'Horeb is supposed
to be the choicest spot for eh,
You know, the best BATS."

"Elijah, to Whom do
you think you're speaking?"

"What d'Ya mean, Lord?
Can't I just come up here,
to be by myself, once in
a while?"

"Uh, uh."

"Why NOT?"

"'Cuz you're My chief
prophet, right now,
and you're supposed to
be doin' what I say."

"Aw, Lord, come on!
You know EXACTLY
what's goin' on;
what with that King and
his Jezebel, I'm not much
more than mincemeat,
right now!"

"So what."

"So WHAT?
Hey, LORD!
I don't think You're taking
this......eh,
whole predicament I'm in,
very SERIOUSLY!"

[SHRUG.]
"So, did you enjoy
those cakes that My angel
prepared for you, Elijah?"

"Yeah. Sure, Lord.
Although, I think they
could've had a touch
more spice in 'em.
And, that jug of water
had a nat in it."

"Complain, complain;
that's all My children do."

(silence)

"So, My child, Elijah?
Are you preparing to
stay up here indefinitely?"

"Well, yeah..........
It's a good thought, Lord.
Maybe, I could just stay
up here, and look
at the bats."

"Uh, uh."

"What d'Ya mean?
NEAH! FORGET ABOUT IT!
I AIN'T GOIN' BACK
DOWN THERE!
UH, UH!"

"Ya' sure are, Elijah.
Just as soon as I'm
standing Here."

"I don't see Ya', Lord.
Where are'Ya, anyway?"

"Right Here: in the
still small Voice."

And behold,
the Lord passed by,
and a great and strong wind
rent the mountains,
and broke in pieces the rocks....
but the Lord was not in the wind;
and after the wind an earthquake,
but the Lord was not in the
earthquake;
and after .....a fire,
but the Lord was not in the fire,
and after the fire
a still small voice.
