Dear Christian Family,
My heart is the heaviest I think it has ever been in my life. Our family is faced with the hardest trial that I/we have ever been through. Please pray for our strength, and pray that the outcome of this trial will be to bring God the glory. Pray that any actions here on out will be thought through and not impulsive as to give fuel to the enemy. Love Danette

Sifting Through the Ashes

I am sifting through these ashes,
Trying to make sense of this pain.
I am trying to find just a glimmer
Of hope within this shame.

Lord You hold in Your ability,
To put an end to this fire storm.
You can take this from us here,
These lives You can transform.

Lord I thought I had the faith to
Know You would see us through,
But my faith tonight is shaken
And I don’t know what to do,
Except lift this broken heart up to You.

Please take from us this cup,
Full of sorrow, hurt and pain.
Please take away this cup
Fill it with Your joy once again.

Lord my heart beat feels so empty,
As tears fall from my eyes.
This trial that You have sent to us,
I long to know the reasons why.

You said we find strength in our weakness,
And we’ll find blessings in our pain
Lead me Lord to the understanding,
Put out this raging flame.
Lord, send down Your healing rain.

Lord, Lead us to Your glory,
Let us find You in the midst of tears,
Let us look back and see how
You guided us through our fears.

Cuz, Lord my faith is shaken,
Lord I just long to understand.
Why have You placed us here,
Where does this fall into Your plan?

As we sift through these ashes,
Let it be Your growth that we find
Let us move towards Your glory,
Let us leave the past behind.
Lord, calm our troubled minds.

Lord I don’t think I have felt such
Confusion ever in my life before
Lift us from this ash heap,
Show us what You have in store.

I try to rationalize every action,
My feeble mind tries to understand
Lord, please help us through this trial,
Give us strength from Your hand.
Give us strength to stand.

You have expressed your heart quite well, with this poem. It could be used to touch many lives because you have not named the storm. I pray this finds it's way to the person(s)who need to read it most. God bless! Remember, he is in the ash heap with you, burning off more clay.

Danette, I feel your pain through your poetry. In your bio you say that you have had no poetry training. Neither have I. However, that doesn't matter, does it? When God gives us talent it is up to us to use it. You are using yours. ... In this trial of fire you are going through, I feel your pain. We have all gone through the fire, some literally and some spiritually. I found I wrote my best poetry when I was going through emotional pain. That is when our hearts and souls are most receptive to God. We know we cannot help ourselves. Your faith is strong. I can sense that in your poem. I am going to share your poem with someone whom I know is going through the fire. She is sifting through the ashes, just like you are. This has been a blessing....Helen.

Dear Danette, be assured I will pray fervently for you and your family as you struggle with these trials. As a matter of fact, as soon as I finish this comment, I am going to get on my knees and send up a prayer to Heaven on your behalf.

May I take the liberty to share something with you? Mary and I have been through some really tough trials, and it seemed each one was worse than the one before. At the present, we are facing the toughest one yet, the hurt of a daughter who has completely turned on us. We have been dealing with this for three months now, and it has been a tough one. She no longer has anything to do with us. But, God will see us through this. He always has!

The reason I share this with you is I hope you will know you are not alone in trials, and I hope you will cherish the fact that the same God who is seeing Mary and I through our fire, will see you through yours. Do not let your faith be shaken, dear sister, but rather, let it be strengthened. God bless you, and we all love you.

Isa 61:3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified. I am praying for you Danette and know that God is with you and your family.
