Crashing The Pity Party

The room was set. The lights were dim and the music was pumping. The balloons and streamers hung securely over a party that would last a lifetime. The food would was plenty. The chocolates were mouth watering and tempting. The bar was set up for hours of happy times. All the gifts sat beautifully wrapped on the gift table. Everything looked perfect for a party worth attending. But sitting alone at the guest of honor table sat a young woman dressed in her Sunday best sobbing as she held onto a once white table cloth. She cried as if this party were her last. In her mind her life needed to end. She could not handle her life anymore. Each balloon that hung reminded her of a passed failure, unfortunate situation, and pain she once encountered. The streamers reminded her of the webs she had entangled her once precious life in. The chocolate and wine use to be her best consoling friends. The music blaring in the background use to help her escape and seek refuge. The games lined up reminded her of the game she was playing with her life. The beautifully wrapped gifts reminded her of gifts she wasn’t worthy enough of receiving. The empty chairs reminded her of the family and friends that abandoned her when she fell apart. Only one remained, the man himself, the party organizer, Lucifer. The only friend she thought had. He could nothing but remind her how right she was at ending her life.

BUT….suddenly there was a knock at the door. A delivery had arrived just for her.
One of her gifts wasn’t wrapped beautifully on the gift table. It didn’t even come in a shiny box. It came personally delivered by the sender himself.
It required her acknowledgement of receiving.
KNOCK, KNOCK…the knock was not going away like she had hoped.

“Look! Here I stand at the door and knock, if you hear Me calling and open the door, I will come in”

As she opened the door to see the One who came to deliver, her eyes opened like they never had before. Before her stood her Savior…..her Party Crasher. He stood anxious, ready and willing to move in, heal and restore her once precious life.

“I have come that they might have life and have it more abundantly”

As she welcomed him by falling into His arms, the balloons began to pop and the streamers began to fall. Lucifer along with all his temptations began to run.
The balloon representing abuse…POP!
Abandonment…POP!
Depression and Despair…POP!
Addiction…POP!
Loss and Lonliness…POP!
Self Pity…POP!
Suicidal thoughts…POP!
Debt…POP!
Unworthiness…POP!
Any and all other sin…POP!

She was finally free! The once dim room beamed with bright light.
The only words that could come out of her mouth were,
Father, where do I sign for my delivery?

My child, because or your acceptance
