I dreamed last night that I could not help
The ones that I love so
The pain I felt and clinching hands
On my knees I had to go

This was the darkest, saddest night
My soul has had to bear
My fear and trembling flowed so deep
I screamed out in deep despair

I looked upon my dear ones eyes
And saw sadness deep within
For they knew then, that I kept inside
The secret to be free from sin

They cried out to me in longing tears
Why didn't you share the truth?
Why didn't you keep me from this fate?
And begged the chains be loose

I could not move, no power I had
My Lords blood was not known
My precious loved ones turned from God
Now hear their mournful groans.

I prayed dear Lord why show me this
When their chances are no more
Why Lord didn't I tell the words?
And your plan to them outpour!

Oh Lord please, make this be a dream
This pain I can not stand
For because of me, they saw no need
To search out your precious plan

My weakness in living boldly for you
And sharing your love for them
Has now become my greatest goal
If only more time you'd send

Oh precious Lord send mercy down
On my family and my friends
Show them Lord your love through me
Let all know your peace within!

For when its time, to say goodbye
I need to know I tried
To help them toward your loving arms
And their soul with you abides.
