I took a walk the other day,
under overcast skies so gray;
silence was the rule that morning,
even the birds had nothing to say.

It made me think of how my ears
bring the world alive in sound,
and how a dimension would be lost,
in a silence so profound.

I wondered at all the sights I see,
giving me a three-dimensional world,
and how different my life would be,
if I had no eyes to see wonders unfurled.

I marveled at how many things I know,
brought to me by taste alone,
and how if there were no sour or sweet,
how much of my world would be unknown

I look at my hands and suddenly see,
that I learn a lot just by touch,
to feel the shapes and sizes of things,
this is what helps me learn so much.

It reminded me so of how my love
gets expressed to you each day,
it is not ever through just one thing,
all of them come into play.

Each word I say to you is filled
with love that overflows my heart,
and tells of how we are one together,
never to be apart.

The words I say have to be heard,
in order to make them clear,
and with your ears my love is made known
with each loving word you hear.

Each moment I spend with you is filled
with the taste of joy and bliss,
how could I ever have known this wonder,
my world full of happiness.

The touch of your hand says more than words,
your arms around me fill me with love,
and through each one I know even more
that you are my gift from above.

Every day I give you all of my love,
in everything I say and I do,
so that in all your senses you'll know for sure,
how very much I LOVE YOU!!
