This Bread ~ This Cup

This Bread ~ this Cup are more
Than nourishment and wine;
This Bread is My Body,
Eat it as divine.
This Cup ~ My holy Blood;
Drink and you are Mine.

This Bread I break with you ~
A symbol to us both;
This Cup we drink together ~
A solemn, holy oath.
As often as you think of Me
Partake and know, I think of thee.

And ever after shall you know
I have forgiven all!
Those who will shortly mock and scorn
For whom I rise...and fall.
So you must do it too~
Nor drink this cup at all!

This one condition I must hold ~
So do not take in vain
The Bread, the Cup, until you know
Your heart forgives all pain.
Sanctify and purpose Love ~
For I shall come again!
