In Your Hand

In your hand as you have said so many times
I would be for merely trusting you.
I rest in this quiet place without fear.
In your hand I am safe
where I can now close my eyes and smell the aroma
Of the life you are now breathing into me.
As I release my heart to adhere to your calling
In your hand I lay my head
I close mine eyes to see the beauty
Of where you must be taking me now.
Not seeing anything with my eyes open,
But the faith you now give me,
I rest looking at the beauty of where I am going.
In you hand where I had longed to be
But looked much lower than where I have now found it.
Searching so long for where I would find fulfillment,
Working hard to gain it but
Never finding it’s place in my heart.
Yet giving up my will and giving into yours
So much simpler than I had imagined.
Not even knowing your will, I didn’t know how
But as I turned loose of all my longings
You picked me up and put me in your hand
To hold and to comfort.

Just rest now my child
As I work out all your life from this day forward
While you rest and leave it all to me.

Those words so comforting as I close my eyes
And view all your Glory cast upon me
For the beauty of this new life you have now given.
Peace fills my heart while I wait for you to carry me
Along with you on your journey where I will become
One of your greatest creations because
You are holding me
In your hand
