The Challenge

I had an enemy across the way.
Every nice thing I had - she envied.
Every loving deed done to me -
She wished was hers.
She scoffed my failures, showing me plainly
She could do better.
But what good are enemies?
Enemies are only challenges
For new friends.
So
I loved her.
When good things came my way
I wished fervently (and prayerfully)
That they were also hers.
Kind deeds that came to me -
I passed to her.
Soon
Scoffing stopped
Sharing began.
A heart enlarged
I found a friend.
Through our friendship, she found a “Friend”...
And friends are wonderful treasures
You can take with you...
To Heaven.
